Process
Step 1: Free Consultation
You are welcome to read through the information provided on this website or from any other channels you have access to.
If you wish, we can arrange an initial online consultation, free of charge, lasting 10 to 15 minutes. To schedule, please send an email to kienminhcounselling@gmail.com. In your message, feel free to briefly share your reasons and hopes for seeking therapy so I can learn a little more about you; we will then agree on a suitable time to connect.
During this conversation, we can discuss your expectations, explore what I can and cannot offer, address any questions you may have, or discuss anything you would like to know regarding how I work.
Step 2: Agreement & Consent
If following our initial consultation you feel that I am not the right match for you, the process concludes there. You do not need to provide an explanation. This decision will not affect any future relationship we might have, including any potential therapeutic engagement should you decide to return.
If you would like to work together, or wish to explore a few sessions before making a longer-term decision, we will sign a working agreement. Even after signing, you retain the complete freedom to end therapy at any time without any obligation to justify or compensate. The primary purpose of this agreement is to establish clear mutual commitments regarding your rights and confidentiality.
Step 3: First Session
To schedule our first full session, please email me at kienminhcounselling@gmail.com. Once our session time is confirmed, please complete the session fee transfer within 24 hours to secure the booking. I will then send you the Google Meet link via email.
During this first session, and throughout all future sessions, you are encouraged to use our time and space in whichever way you find most helpful and comfortable for yourself.
Fees
I hope counselling can serve as a steady anchor as you navigate life's challenges rather than becoming an additional burden. For this reason, I offer a sliding scale fee structure to accommodate different financial circumstances as best as I can. Please select the tier that aligns with your present situation and simply inform me of your choice when we sign the working agreement.
* Currently, I can support a maximum of 10 sessions at a subsidized fee below 450,000đ per individual client.
Estimated Monthly Cost
Every individual comes to therapy with distinct circumstances and goals. For some clients, meaningful change that feels sufficient to conclude therapy may emerge after 6 or 10 sessions. Others may benefit from 20, 40, or a longer course of work. Estimating and planning ahead for an arc of 6, 10, or 20 sessions can help you manage your personal budget effectively.
The table below provides an estimated monthly breakdown for your reference:
| Fee per Session | Weekly (approx. 4 sessions/month) |
Fortnightly (approx. 2 sessions/month) |
|---|---|---|
| 850,000đ – 1,000,000đ | 3,400,000đ – 4,000,000đ | 1,700,000đ – 2,000,000đ |
| 650,000đ – 800,000đ | 2,600,000đ – 3,200,000đ | 1,300,000đ – 1,600,000đ |
| 450,000đ – 600,000đ | 1,800,000đ – 2,400,000đ | 900,000đ – 1,200,000đ |
| Below 450,000đ * | Below 1,800,000đ | Below 900,000đ |
Actual monthly totals will naturally adapt depending on calendar variations and the agreed pacing of your sessions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will Person-Centred therapy be effective for me?
A substantial body of scientific research demonstrates that Person-Centred (Client-Centred) therapy is effective across a wide range of concerns, including depression and anxiety, for many diverse clients.
However, empirical findings on therapeutic efficacy reflect general, aggregate averages. In my view, no scientific data can guarantee with certainty that a specific therapeutic approach will work for any particular individual.
Throughout my professional journey, I have witnessed clients experience profound, positive transformation through the presence and support of Person-Centred therapists. At the same time, I have also encountered instances where this approach did not feel effective or produced little noticeable change.
In reality, therapeutic change is shaped by a complex interplay of factors arising from the client, the therapist, and the therapeutic orientation itself. While we cannot always pinpoint what facilitates or hinders movement, it is clear that no single modality or therapist is universally suited to every person or every issue.
Ultimately, while it takes time and effort, the most reliable and meaningful way to know whether this approach works for you is to experience it firsthand.
